Project Description

The facility is a newly-built, temperature controlled, meat-packaging environment across multiple chambers inclusive of mezzanine floors and carrying various levels of automated processes.

Design Challenges

The client specification, based on their previous experience, required minimisation of the cost and risk associated with using manual labour to carry large amounts of waste from the high capacity meat processing and packaging floor to a collection centre situated outside the building.  It was also essential to maintain the highest level of hygiene within the facility.

Why was Avac’s vacuum solid system the solution

Avac provided a solution using MariMatic’s Taifun vacuum conveying technology to automate the waste transfer from the clean production floor to the refuse collection centre.  For this project, our system is designed to carry 3 streams of solid waste [2 x plastic and 1 x cardboard] which includes the shredding and transfer of spent cardboard cartons to help support an effective recycling program.

The facility can move large amounts of waste quickly and without compromising strict hygiene requirements.
